Ketchup Costume

Ketchup is a wonder sauce! Made of tomatoes, sugar and vinegar, ketchup is perfect with burgers, hotdogs, chicken, French fires, eggs and steak. Tomato ketchup, or catsup as it’s called by some, is a condiment created at the turn of the 19th century as a most delectable marriage of the English way of “saucing” everything and the growing American fondness for the tomato. The first recipe for ketchup (and later inspiration for a Ketchup costume) was printed in the “Sugar House Book” in 1801.

If you are addicted to ketchup, you’ll probably take it in any form or fashion from packets, bottles and the big hydraulically powered bucket at your favorite fast food hangout. Several years ago you could actually get ketchup in all sorts of bright colors such as purple, pink and teal – just think about the possibilities for that Ketchup costume. Connoisseurs of ketchup will be the hit of any party, especially a barbeque, especially when arriving in a larger-than-life Ketchup costume.

It’s true that the anticipation of a Ketchup costume will make you wait! But there are several choices in a Ketchup costume you can totally pour yourself into. In sized to fit both adults and children, a Ketchup costume will create a flavorful image wherever it’s worn. From trick-or-treating at Halloween or peddling hotdogs in the park, a Ketchup costume is lip-smacking good.

Most styles of the Ketchup costume is designed as a bright red sheath made of foam that slips over the body leaving openings for the arms and legs. A coordinating cone-shaped hat with wide brim is meat to be worn with a Ketchup costume as the cap. Whether you are a big squirt or a little squirt, a Ketchup costume is sure to get you noticed. For the littlest fans of ketchup (although they may be too young to taste it), there is an adorable bunting-style Ketchup costume for babies that are not mobile yet. A Ketchup costume bunting is styled as an enclosed gown with a squirt lid hat that will keep infants warm and cozy on a blustery night of trick-or-treating with older siblings. If you have a date, pair up for the perfect match by have one person wear the Ketchup costume and the other person wear the coordinating mustard costume.

The one thing about a Ketchup costume and ketchup in general is that it doesn’t like to be alone – no one ever just eats it plain with a spoon!  So, add some company to your Ketchup costume by having a friend dress up in an oversized food costume such as hotdog, hamburger or eggs to go with your Ketchup costume. These oversized foam costumes are the perfect complement to a Ketchup costume and will get everyone’s appetite worked up. You can even find a hotdog for your pampered pooch!

So if you love ketchup so much that you consider it the vegetable food group, you must have a Ketchup costume to wear on special occasions. Wear a Ketchup costume to a backyard cookout, in a crazy costume fun run, or be the Ketchup fairy and deliver bottles of ketchup to every neighbor’s doorstep. Sweet, tangy and just right, you can’t go wrong with a Ketchup costume!
