Curious George Costumes

Curious George is the pint-sized primate character in author H.A. Rey’s much loved kid’s book series! Hitting the bookstands in 1941 to the thrill of children around the country, these simple illustrated story books recorded the every day shenanigans of a mischief-making monkey brought back from an African safari by the descriptively named caretaker, “The Man in the Yellow Hat”.

The adventures of Curious George are numerous, centering on the expected and unexpected big-city mishaps that occur outside his normal habit. Of course, it’s all funny and made him a huge hit with children (along with adorable Curious George costumes). Also turned into an animated cartoon series, these storybook adventures have most recently been showcased on a 2006 feature film with comedian Will Ferrell portraying “The Man in the Yellow Hat”. Of course, this movie capitalized of Ferrell’s goofy demeanor and the traditional Curious George costumes.

The saying “monkey see, monkey do” holds true with Curious George costumes. Once youngsters see the character Curious George, they will love dressing up as this impish animal in Curious George costumes. In sizes to accommodate babies, toddlers, children and grown-ups, Curious George costumes are bound to kick off swinging celebrations – especially at a Halloween event, a Curious George birthday party, or just for role-playing fun. If you are planning a party, you’ll find plenty of paper party goods such as plates, napkins, cups and favors to match precisely with your choice in Curious George costumes.

The majority of Curious George costumes are fashioned in the style of a one-piece jumpsuit. Outfitted in warm, cuddly monkey-brown material, Curious George costumes have attached flesh-colored “feet” and a long tail – you’ll look monkey-licious from top to bottom. A pair of coordinating mittens would make a good embellishment to all Curious George costumes. Curious George costumes also come with a pull up hood that is designed with the face of this beloved monkey; the benefit of the hood is that it will keep children warm on a chilly evening of trick-or-treating. If putting together one of your own Curious George costumes is your thing, start with a sweat shirt and coordinating pair of pants in brown fleece as the base for your version of Curious George costumes. Use a monkey mask or special effects makeup to ingeniously paint on the facial features of this fictional monkey character.

For adults, a good choice in Curious George costumes is the Man in the Yellow Hat. As a buddy and parent figure to the child-like George, this man sports a very recognizable (and bright!) style of Curious George costumes. Looking like a hybrid of a African safari explorer and a ginormous yellow banana, “The Man in the Yellow Hat” has Curious George costumes that include yellow pants, a yellow shirt and a jumbo yellow hat with a wide brim and tall cap (much like a sombrero). A black belt, black boot covers and short polka-dot ascot lend these Curious George costumes a cartoonish image.

Whatever your expedition, you will be all monkey-business wearing one of the several Curious George costume. You are sure to feel like “King of the Jungle” or at least “top banana” when you show up at your event in one of the Curious George costumes.  Plus, with festive decorations that complement all Curious George costumes (even monkey piñatas), you party is sure to be the best to hang out in town.
